Wanna 'Rock Your Firefox'?

One reason I switched from IE to Firefox was its tabbed interface and later fell in love with it due to the loads of add-ons available free. These add-ons, though they make Firefox a bit sluggish, have proved to be the biggest boon not only for the users but also for Firefox.

Lack of add-ons in Google Chrome slowed down its adoption though now you will find Chrome add-ons in abundance. However, this post is all about Firefox's add-ons and very flashy looking Rock Your Firefox (RYF) website (see the screenshot below) which invites you to rock your Firefox with the plethora of add-ons it has to offer.

RYF seems to be Mozilla's move to lure the users into discovering new Firefox add-ons from a very modern and peppy looking gallery. According to their official blog post, RYF will also feature reviews, guidance about add-ons, and insights from the users.

It is interesting to know that RYF existed since 2007 but as a Facebook page that was discontinued after sometime. It is in only March 2010 when Mozilla revived it again but this time as a full-fledged exchange community, that will act as a sister site for Firefox's official add-ons site.

While I figure out how it will help the users having two different add-on galleries when a common promoter (Firefox) manages both, you can start or continue rocking your Firefox in the meanwhile.
